Nigerian goalkeeper, Vincent Enyeama, has extended his contract with French side Lille, keeping him at the club till 2019, the club has confirmed.
‘‘LOSC is pleased and proud to announce the extension of Vincent Enyeama’s contract by 2 more seasons. The Nigerian goalkeeper of 33 years will continue to defend the cage of LOSC until 2019,’‘ the club said in a statement on its website.

‘‘No doubt that this confirmation of the presence in the Lille ranks of the indisputable best goalkeeper in Ligue 1 for all fans of LOSC is extremely positive and decisive in performance and the club’s ambitions,’‘ the statement added.
The shot stopper’s contract with the Ligue 1 side was due to run out in 2017, but the 33-year-old has expressed excitement at having extended his deal, “I am very happy to extend my contract with Lille, a club I call home,” he said.
He joined the club in 2001 and has been Lille’s preferred goalie since 2013 with 130 appearances for the club in all competitions.
The club describes him as ‘‘Spider Man,’‘ adding that he has ‘‘become a natural part of Lille’s locker room as a figure championship of France.’‘
‘‘His experience in international games, his leadership, “Zen-attitude”, and of course his immense talent now represent as many prime assets for LOSC,’‘ the statement concluded.
He retired from international duties in October 2015 after serving the national team for 13 years. He served as captain of the Super Eagles from 2013 till he retired at the time as Nigeria’s most capped footballer with 101 caps.
